Class1 Water Treatment & Distribution
Service Description
Designed for all Water Plant and/or Distribution System Operators not currently certified. This course offers: • Preparation to write Saskatchewan Class 1 – Certification Exams for WT & Distribution • Examination sessions provided on the 5th day • Introduction – Legislation & Water Quality Objectives • Safety – Plant & Distribution Works • Basic Technical Skills • Support Systems • Administration • Water Treatment (Principles/Equipment) • Water Distribution (Principles/Equipment) The course includes five days of instruction (8:30 - 3:30), manuals, printed course materials and quizzes, and the course exams the following week on Tuesday. PREREQUISITES Basic understanding of water treatment and distribution system principals, practices and terminology as well as basic mathematic skills. NOTES Grade 12/GED 12 is required for Class 1 certification applications to the Operator Certification Board of Saskatchewan (www.saskocb.ca). Registrants in our courses without Grade 12/GED 12 are advised to be working towards this course corequisite. ONLINE FORMAT: LIVE ONLINE COURSE w. ATAP INSTRUCTOR: Registered students will login to a virtual classroom at a set time and date to view a PowerPoint with an ATAP instructor teaching live by audio. Video content and live online discussion is included. Non-refundable course materials (valued at $200) will be couriered to attendees prior to the course, provided they have paid course fees by 2-week registration deadline CEU certificates will be emailed to students with paper copies to follow by mail. A phone number will be provided for technical assistance. Technical requirements: • Email address (where login information can be sent) • Access to a computer, laptop, or tablet • Internet access • Head phones are very helpful but not required If writing exams other than the course exams, notify ATAP at least 22 days before exam date. In-person exams (2) begin at 8:30am in Saskatoon on Tuesday, April 15th. Only SK Certification exams are available with this course. Saskatoon exams are web-based electronic exams overseen by invigilator in exam room. For those living in remote regions, proctored onsite (paper) exams can be arranged with at least 22 days notice. NOTE! The course plus two exams (Class 1 Wastewater Treatment & Class 1 Wastewater Collection) is the standard registration. Typically, most registrants will choose the course plus 2 exams option. Other options are available, if required.

BOOKING CONFIRMATION/RECEIPT: Upon completion of your online booking/payment, a confirmation email will be sent to you from this website with another email to follow with a receipt (paid invoice). Please ensure that any email spam/junk filters are not blocking these emails. If you do not receive any emails after booking, please call ATAP at 306-244-8828. CANCELLATION POLICY: If the registrant cancels two weeks before a workshop/course or earlier, they are eligible for a full refund. Within two weeks of the start of the course/workshop, no refunds for cancellations are available unless ATAP cancels the training. The registrant who cancels in the two weeks prior to the start date will, however, have a credit that can be held for up to 1 year. Students who are absent, without informing ATAP of that absence prior to the course start, will receive a credit, which may be held up to 1 year, but are not eligible for a refund. Exam cancellations during a course: registrants must indicate at the time of registration (whether online or by telephone), the course exams they are writing (both, one, none). No credits or refunds will be available for exam cancellations once the course has begun. No examinations can be added during the course.
